Bolt

Lighter bolts reduce felt recoil, but per Ion documentation, they don't change shot speed, consistency, or air efficiency.

Stock/Standard Firebolt Originally a Smart Parts part, continued by GOG (founded by former Smart Parts staff after the 2010 closure). Two-piece aluminum, about half the weight of stock. TechT L7 One-piece aluminum, 7.1 grams — TechT's own listing calls it the lightest Ion bolt ever made. Polished, anodized, and teflon-impregnated. Includes a new bolt stop and rear plug component.

QEV

Stock/Standard Clippard QEV Brass QEV, fitted with the correct o-rings for the Ion. Same dwell-time and efficiency benefit as the SP 360° — vents air at the valve instead of back at the solenoid. Smart Parts 360° QEV The only QEV made specifically for the Ion — installs like the stock fitting. Vents air right at the valve instead of back at the solenoid, shortening dwell time and improving efficiency and battery life.

Trigger

Stock/Standard Custom Products (CP) Bearing-pivot aluminum trigger. Attaches with a screw instead of the stock roll pin, so it's easy to remove for cleaning. CP closed in early 2026, so this is existing stock — no manufacturer warranty behind it anymore. NDZ Bearing-pivot trigger with pre-travel, post-travel, and firing-point adjustment. Available in several styles and colors.

Electronics / Board

Every aftermarket board fires faster than stock and improves eye/vision performance — none is definitively "faster" than another. The real differences are in adjustment features and what comes in the box.

Stock/Standard Blackheart Eye-mode ROF capped at 20 BPS. Comes as a full kit — solenoid, board, daughterboard, wire harness, and hoses. Virtue 20 BPS capped with eyes off, uncapped with eyes on. Programs by holding the trigger while powering on; includes lifetime software upgrades for the original owner.

Eyes / Vision

Stock/Standard Laser Eyes — Blue Cosmetic eye swap using the stock daughterboard with a different-color emitter/detector. Purely visual — doesn't change detection performance. Laser Eyes — Green Cosmetic eye swap using the stock daughterboard with a different-color emitter/detector. Purely visual — doesn't change detection performance. ASA / Bottomline

Stock/Standard Custom Products (CP) On/off ASA with System Bleed and Virtual Resistance — vents tank-line air automatically for easy removal after degassing, and turns with almost no resistance. CP closed in early 2026, so this is existing stock — no manufacturer warranty behind it anymore.
