Aftermarket On/Off Buttons

A small, purely tactile upgrade — none of these change how the board works, just how it feels (and looks) to turn the marker on and off. See Electronics for how the stock on/off actually connects to the board.

Stock on/off

A flat sticker-style membrane switch on the original Ion 1.0 (left) — functional, but easy to lose track of by feel alone, which is the whole reason this category exists. The clear push-button (right) is the style the Ion 2.0, XE, and Epiphany moved to stock — see the Power Button entry below for the version sold to retrofit it onto an Ion 1.0.

Aftermarket buttons

• Power Button↗ Smart Parts The same clear push-button on/off used on the Epiphany, sold separately as an upgrade for the standard Ion's sticker on/off — this is the same physical button already referenced in the model-comparison pages as the clear-plastic style shared by the Ion 2.0 and XE's aftermarket upgrade path (the original Ion 1.0 kept the membrane/sticker button stock). Gives a real tactile click and lets the board's status LED show through. Tippmann's own store and E-Paintball both show it temporarily out of stock, but ANSgear confirms current stock. Read more
• Ion EzOn (V1)↗ Virtue An enlarged 3D dome sticker that presses against the stock membrane switch — works with the stock board, but Virtue's own listing notes a clear click when paired with a Virtue board specifically. Sold in plain colors (green, blue, red, black, white, pink, yellow) as well as themed graphic prints from this era, including the rifle design pictured. At paintballgear.ca (the site's own bookmarked source), Green/Red/Pink/Yellow are currently in stock while Blue/Black/White are sold out — color availability shifts over time, so treat the specific colors as a snapshot rather than a guarantee. • Ion EzOn 2.0↗ Virtue A later revision — a rubber button styled after the Ego/Etek push-button on/off, with an adhesive designed to hold up better than the V1's sticker. Compatible with Ion and Ion XE — despite Virtue's own listing also naming EOS and Epiphany, those two actually use the different Epiphany-style power button instead (see the Power Button entry below), so this one doesn't fit them — the Epiphany-style button is backwards-compatible with the Ion, not this one forwards onto Epiphany/EOS. Advertised as available in 5 colors at the time; mine is an olive/black grenade-graphic print with an amber button. E-Paintball's own listing files it under Discontinued Items — the page still shows a price and add-to-cart button, but that reads as existing-stock-only rather than an active product line. Read more
