Aftermarket Triggers

Roll pin vs. screw: the stock trigger and most bearing-pivot replacements use the same roll-pin removal method — but several aftermarket triggers below (CP, Violent's Scythe) mount with a screw instead. Check which one you've got before assuming the pin-punch procedure applies.

Roller / Star 3Skull Dual roller bearing Aircraft-grade aluminum, magnetic adjustable force, sold in multiple colors and a "star"-milled finish option. PB Sports carries both the Roller and Star versions in black, silver, and blue.
Roller Trigger ANS Roller bearing (3/8") A simple drop-in swap, per its own manufacturer description — large 3/8" roller bearing pivot, a magnet for return, an adjustable trigger stop, and a radiused vertical screw for precision trigger positioning; lightweight aluminum construction. ANSgear's own listing is filed in their "Paintball Graveyard" as discontinued, but ANSXtreme — the same reseller network under a different, older storefront template — shows this one genuinely in stock, confirmed via its own "Stock Status: In Stock" text.
RPM Critical Paintball Dual ball bearing Reverse-polarity magnetic return with four-way adjustment: tension, switch activation point, rear travel stop, and trigger angle. Listed at Oregon Paintball as "Critical Ion Trigger" (SKU CRIT-100-001, compatibility: Smart Parts ION) — same distinctive shape as the E-Paintball photo, just in red instead of black. Paintball Gateway, a separate storefront that once carried it, has shut down entirely.
Rake Roller Trigger Custom Products (CP) Roller bearing Aluminum, roller-bearing pivot. Made by Custom Products (CP) — easy to conflate with the similarly-shaped Trinity Roller Blade below, but they're different makers. Distinct from the Sling Blade Trigger above — CP sold two genuinely different Ion trigger shapes.
Sling Blade Trigger Custom Products (CP) Bearing Blade-shaped aluminum, gloss or dust-anodized finish, sold in multiple colors. Attaches with a screw instead of the stock roll pin, making it easy to pull for cleaning. Distinct from the Rake Roller Trigger below — CP sold two genuinely different Ion trigger shapes. "Stick" is a real CP trigger name, but it's for the Bob Long/AGD Intimidator platform, not the Ion, despite both being CP products. CP's own store (customproducts.us) is no longer online.
Fingerlock Deadlywind Dual ball bearing Deadlywind's own "ID bearing clamping" method for near-zero pivot slop, with a slimmer tail section for clearance around aftermarket boards, plus a magnet and backstop set screw. Deadlywind's own site confirms: "Sorry - this product is no longer available."
Original / Wave Fireball Mountain (FBM) Not specified Black delrin, two shapes — a blade-style "original" and a double-curved "wave." Sold through FBMfactory.com historically; I could only find rare/vintage eBay listings now, no current storefront presence. A 2007–2008 community catalog describes these as light enough to need no return spring, and cites in-house testing showing a 3–6 BPS rate-of-fire increase over stock.
Blade New Designz (NDZ) Bearing One of four NDZ trigger shapes for the Ion — see Wave, S-treme, and Saw below for the others. Colored polymer or anodized aluminum, bearing pivot with 1/16" hex adjustments for pre-travel, post-travel, and firing point. NDZ pivoted to firearms accessories after the paintball supplier base it sold into contracted sharply; their current catalog has no paintball products at all.
Razr Blade / Razr Slik New Designz (NDZ) Dual roller bearing 100% 6061 billet aluminum, dual roller bearings, dual removable magnets, and a nylon-tipped set screw to prevent frame wear — four colors (Black/Blue/Red/Silver). A genuinely distinct, later NDZ trigger line from the Blade/Wave/S-treme/Saw quartet above, confirmed via E-Paintball's own product page. Same discontinued status as the rest of NDZ's Ion lineup — NDZ pivoted entirely to firearms accessories. The linked E-Paintball listing is a reference link, not confirmed current stock, since that store is dormant.
S-treme New Designz (NDZ) Bearing Same construction and adjustment as the NDZ Blade above, just a different shape — same discontinued status.
Saw New Designz (NDZ) Bearing Same construction and adjustment as the NDZ Blade above, just a different shape — same discontinued status. Not to be confused with Warrior's unrelated "Saw" trigger below — a different maker's product that happens to share the same name.
Wave New Designz (NDZ) Bearing Same construction and adjustment as the NDZ Blade above, just a different shape. NDZ itself is gone — pivoted entirely to firearms accessories — but this specific shape (red composite) is corrected from the "gone" badge the other NDZ shapes carry: the manufacturer being defunct doesn't mean the part isn't currently purchasable.
Double Trigger Redz Dual ball bearing Delrin construction, four points of adjustability (pull-stop, return-stop, microswitch activation point, and a choice of magnetic or spring return tension). ANSgear's own dedicated Redz Ion Trigger category page currently shows zero products listed, matching Redz's other Ion parts elsewhere on this site.
Roller Bearing Trigger (V1 / V2) Shocktech Dual caged roller bearing CNC-machined, fully adjustable (microswitch actuator and travel-stop position), with a pocket cut for the factory magnet if you want it or a way to push it out if you don't. Two versions (V1, V2) both turned up in a 2007–2008 community parts catalog with near-identical descriptions — the difference between them isn't documented there. An earlier "out of stock" finding at ActionVillage turned out to be stale; it's genuinely available there.
Saber TechT Sealed Swiss roller bearing A second, confirmed-distinct named TechT trigger. Spelled "Saber" in TechT's own manufacturer description, quoted in a 2007–2008 community parts catalog — informal community references sometimes spell it "Sabre" instead. Two-point adjustable, built around sealed Swiss roller bearings for a light, short pull; TechT's own product page confirms it fits both the classic Ion and Ion XE. TechT no longer lists it for sale, the same as the Stinger above — the linked page is kept as a reference, not a purchase link.
Stinger TechT Sealed Swiss roller bearing TechT's own trigger, separate from their bolt and Sleeper body covered elsewhere on this site, and distinct from the Saber below — confirmed as two genuinely different named products via TechT's own site (both have dedicated product pages). TechT no longer lists it for sale — the linked page is kept as a reference to what the product was, not as a purchase link.
TBO Trigger TheBetterOne (TBO) Not independently researched Delrin construction (white or black), offered in several trigger shapes, with or without a magnet. Referenced repeatedly in community trigger discussion alongside the CP and NDZ roller triggers as a real option players actually bought — but no dedicated current retailer listing was found, so treat this as a real, historically-documented product rather than a confirmed currently-available one.
Quick Trinity Bearing One of at least three named Trinity trigger shapes for the Ion — E-Paintball separately lists a Trinity Roller Trigger and a Trinity Blade Trigger, neither covered here. Confirmed as a real product via E-Paintball's own listing (SKU 8682, sold in Black/Blue/Red/Yellow), but that page carries no descriptive text beyond color options — no material or adjustment-point specifics found anywhere else. E-Paintball is a dormant store, so this link is kept as historical reference only; every color variant shows backordered on that page, not confirmed current stock.
Roller Blade Trigger Trinity Not independently researched Genuinely a Trinity part, distinct from the similarly-shaped Rake Roller Trigger above (which is Custom Products, not Trinity, despite easy confusion between the two). Aluminum with a three-point adjustment. E-Paintball also lists a similarly-named product, but that store is a dormant listing (see disclaimer) and isn't treated as evidence of current stock.
Ion Violent Series Bearing A distinct Violent Series shape from the Scythe above — straighter blade profile, single bearing pivot, set-screw adjustment. Not yet matched to a specific current retailer listing, so link and availability aren't confirmed — treat this entry as photographed but not yet fully researched.
Scythe Violent Series Bearing (dual flanged) Acetron (lightweight polymer), shaped to follow the natural curve of a finger. Adjustable pre-travel, post-travel, switch take-up, and magnet tension. Attaches with a screw instead of a roll pin. Sold at ANSgear as "Violent Series - Ion/Ion XE Trigger," whose own description names the "Scythe" shape, Delrin construction, dual flanged bearings, and pre/post-travel plus magnet-tension adjustment — a genuine match. A similarly-named E-Paintball listing ("Violent Series ION Trigger") is a different product entirely — a "Digit" pivot pin assembly developed with Techna Trigger, no mention of "Scythe" — so don't use that one as a source for this trigger.
3-Point Magnetic Warrior Not independently researched A 2007–2008 community parts catalog confirms this as a real product with three adjustment points (front trigger stop, back trigger stop, microswitch) and adjustable magnetic return via the frame-height screw, compatible with both Ion and SP8. Sold at ANSXtreme, also available there in Red, Dust Black, Lava Orange, and Blue — use that listing over E-Paintball, which is a dormant store (see disclaimer).
Saw Warrior Not independently researched A genuinely distinct, separately-branded Warrior product — not to be confused with NDZ's unrelated "Saw" shape covered above, a different maker's product that happens to share the same name. Confirmed real via ANSgear's own listings, sold in Silver and Red, but filed in their "Paintball Graveyard" with the standard manufacturer-discontinued notice. No further spec detail (pivot type, adjustment points) is documented anywhere found, including zdspb, which only covers the NDZ Saw shape.
SL Magnetic Warrior Not independently researched Same 2007–2008 catalog confirms this as roughly half the weight of a standard aluminum Ion trigger via three material-removal cuts, also compatible with both Ion and SP8. Sold at ANSXtreme in Dust Black, Blue, and Black — use that listing over E-Paintball, which is a dormant store (see disclaimer).
