Epiphany

A stock-upgraded version of the Ion — most parts share a lineage with the standard Ion, but the Epiphany runs at a higher operating pressure through a purpose-built fire chamber, regulator, and solenoid. Kept as a fully separate track from Ion/Ion 2.0/XE because the differences here are substantial enough to matter for nearly every service procedure, not just a couple of running changes.

What's actually different from a standard Ion

Higher operating pressure — 250–280 psi vs. the Ion's ~180 psi, enabled by a smaller, faster-recharging fire chamber.
Interchangeable volume inserts — three inserts tune chamber volume against pressure. This is the single biggest thing to understand before servicing one; see the dedicated page.
Magnesium-aluminum body, plated finish, sculpted ergonomic frame with a curved rear spine — versus the Ion's composite polymer exoskeleton and powdercoated frame.
Conical bearing-mount trigger with three adjustment points (pre-travel, post-travel, activation) instead of the Ion's two-screw setup. Only shared with the EOS.
Integrated dovetail ASA, stock Smartvalve on/off — designed to stay threaded onto one tank rather than being screwed on and off repeatedly.
Epiphany-specific solenoid and circuit board required — identifiable by a red coil wrap with black Ion logo. A standard Ion solenoid isn't built for Epiphany pressure.
Firebolt and Freak-based barrel come stock — both are aftermarket upgrades on Ion 1.0/2.0/XE (see Bolts and Barrels), but the Epiphany ships with them from the factory, including an Epiphany-specific sculpted barrel back section not used on the other barrel.

Board programming logic (dwell, ROF delay, fire modes) works the same way as the Ion — just with Epiphany-specific stock values. Bolt and firing-assembly service follows the same general approach as Ion, with Epiphany-specific o-ring sizes.

Colorways, cosmetically: the Epiphany shipped in three base finishes — Obsidian, Platinum, and Pewter — each paired with one of four accent colors (Azure Blue, Inferno Red, Halo White, Onyx Black) applied consistently across the breech, frame, and regulator cover, e.g. "Platinum/Inferno Red." A separate Limited Edition Gold run also existed, with its own black-and-gold graphic pattern rather than the standard base-plus-accent scheme. The fire chamber itself is red on every colorway regardless of accent color — see Fire Chamber Volume Inserts. Don't read your marker looking different from the photos on this site as a sign of a non-stock part — it's likely just a different colorway.
